Money and Status

Money and Status go hand in hand. They say that money makes the mare go round and it is very true. If you have money you are highly respected in society but if you are poor then God bless you.
If you maintain a certain standard of living , people think you have plenty of money and always have a smile on their faces when they meet you. But the day they find out that you have less or no money, they show their true colours. The same people who put you on a pedestal drag you down and crush you under their feet. That's humanity. People measure and value your worth by looking at your possessions not realising that you may be a pauper. They judge you by your external appearance which misleads them into believing that you are worth a million dollars Nobody understands a person's good nature or good deeds. It's money, money and only money.
When a ship is sinking the rats are the first ones to desert a sinking ship.Whether it's your family, friends or neighbours nobody wants to be close to someone who is not wealthy. Money comes and money goes. Apart from Life and Death nothing is certain in this world but people are always running after money. How much does a human being need besides basic food, clothing and shelter? We work hard just for two square meals. Do we take our wealth with us when we die? Then why are we so selfish and do not help people in need? They say Charity begins at home .It is our moral duty to help the needy people in the family first. At times a brother or sister does not help another sibling who is in need of money and still be normal and sleep in peace without feeling guilty about the situation.
At times a person goes through bad times and is helpless about the situation. The same person must have helped out several people during his good days. Why are some people so kind and others stone-hearted? It is very difficult to understand human nature. Most of the people in this world are money-minded and their world revolves around money and material things. If there was an equal distribution of money, wealth, character and all other things then the world would be a better place to live in. One can only pray for such a miracle.

Ginger, My Pet Cat

Ginger is my pet Persian cat and is 9 years old.She is a saving grace in the family whenever there is a problem or illness or other tensions. She comes and sits on your lap or sleeps next to you and
immediately you feel better and lighter. I think it is very important to have a pet in the family because pets are so lovable that you tend to forget all your other worries.

Every morning she wakes me up as soon as it is bright so that she gets some cat food but she wants the food to be served on the hall window where her crow friends come and sit. The minute she sees the crows she'll start eating quickly just to spite them and in the end she'll leave a few morsels for them. This is her daily routine.

In my opinion, every family should have a pet as they help in reducing Blood Pressure and other
ailments . They express themselves so well that I think they are more intelligent than human beings.

Old Age

It is very unfortunate that old age is treated like a disease. The children of this generation have absolutely no time for their old and ailing parents and most of them treat their parents like doormats. The same parents, who have made their children what they are today are treated very shabbily and scolded for even trying to make a conversation with their children. If both parents are alive, they cry on each others' shoulders but in cases where only a single parent is alive, they can't even share their problems with their better half and they go into depression .

It's difficult to understand why children treat their parents in this manner. All that parents need is a few minutes of attention from their children and if even that is denied to them then they withdraw into a shell and don't come out of that shell till the end. Many of the children send their parents to Old-Age Homes and never return to find out about their problems. They don't realise that they will be treated in the same manner when they grow old. We do not realise the value of our parents as long as they are alive. It's only when they are no more that we remember the values they have given us and miss them but by then it will be too late.

So grow up kids and start respecting your elders and treat them well . Make their lives comfortable as their needs are very little and they get pleasure with small gestures. Never
be rude or snap at them no matter how busy you may be. Don't hurt them or make them cry
in the twilight of their lives. Be kind and patient with them and make their last days easier for them.

Remember what goes around comes around and tomorrow you will be the victims of old age
at the mercy of your children.
